Wesmans’ and Svensk Försäkring’s Nordic Marine Market Event in Gothenburg, 19.03.2025

 

We had a fantastic gathering on March 19, 2025, in Gothenburg to celebrate a truly special milestone –  Wesmans’ 130th anniversary!

It was a pleasure to mark this special occasion alongside many of our esteemed clients and industry partners. We were delighted to welcome over 100 guests – a strong testament to the lasting relationships we have built over more than a century.
Wesmans’ anniversary celebration took place alongside the networking event, organized in collaboration with Svensk Försäkring/Insurance Sweden, where we explored some of the key topics shaping our industry today.

This year’s focus was the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, USA, involving the container ship m/v DALI – examined from multiple perspectives. We had the pleasure of hearing expert insights on the marine insurance aspects from Mike Roderick and Jai Sharma, Head of Cargo Casualty at Clyde &Co., as well as the surveyor’s perspective shared by Christopher Clark, Vice President Operations and Director of Risk Management at EIMC.
Adding a broader context, we were privileged to hear Olver Tomac, Senior Intelligence & Operations Advisor at Den Norske Krigsforsikring for Skib (DNK)  with his captivating presentation – “Geopolitics with Merchant Ships in the Line of Fire” – offering valuable insights into the global landscape impacting our industry.
